The NeverRest Project and the SPCC join forces to promote more responsible and regenerative mountain tourism

The NeverRest Project and the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC) have agreed to collaborate to advance more responsible and regenerative mountain tourism using the most advanced technologies available.

December 17th, 2025. The NeverRest Project Nepal has signed a collaboration agreement with the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC), the organization responsible for waste management and environmental protection in the Everest region. Through this partnership, The NeverRest Project will provide the SPCC with cutting-edge technologies to better measure and understand the impact of tourism in high-altitude environments.

This collaboration will enable Nepal to plan its tourism and environmental policies with far greater precision, positioning the country as a global leader in the pursuit of balance between the tourism industry and the preservation of natural spaces and wildlife. We are very proud to take another important step forward together with Nepal in advancing regenerative tourism.

In the words of the SPCC, “this collaboration moves us closer to a cleaner, greener, and more responsible mountain future.”

According to Frédéric Kauffmann, CEO and Founder of The NeverRest Project Corp., “Today we celebrate the signing of this agreement with the SPCC as a key milestone in our commitment to support those working on the ground, at the very front line of environmental management. This agreement has been signed through The NeverRest Project Nepal, reaffirming our long-term commitment to the country under a principle we strongly stand for: For Nepal, By Nepal. By bringing technology and innovation closer to those who bear great responsibility under intense international media pressure, we aim to support their unconditional work and help create a positive balance between tourism, the environment, and local communities. We would like to thank Mr. Tshering Sherpa for making this collaboration possible, and to thank him and his team for their unwavering commitment to sustainability.”

The agreement was also signed by Sanjeev Giri, CEO of The NeverRest Project Nepal, and Tshering Sherpa, CEO of the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC).
